Overview
Ella McCambridge is a home in the Walker area of Newcastle Upon Tyne, which can accommodate 67 residents. Care can be provided for those with dementia. Ella McCambridge also offers the following short stay services; respite care.
The Ella McCambridge Care Home is a dual registered two-story purpose-built care home which opened its doors in 1999.
We have 67 registered bedrooms, offering Residential / Residential EMI accommodation and personal care for adults over the age of 65 with dementia with many rooms overlooking our well-kept landscaped front and back garden.
All service users will have an assessment of their needs carried out prior to admission to ensure we can meet their needs.
The home is conveniently situated in the east end of Newcastle upon Tyne near bus 2 stops and a bus terminus enabling easy access for families / friends travelling from nearby areas by bus.
There are also local amenities close by including a newsagent, food store, chemist and post office which are in walking distance enabling easy access for service users.
Furnished bedrooms can be personalised to suite the individual service user, and where possible personal possessions are always encouraged to be brought into the home to make bedrooms feel familiar and personal to the service user. All our bedrooms offer en-suite facilities.
There is an alarm call system installed throughout the home including all bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas and if service users are assessed as being a high risk of falls, we can place alarm mats in their bedrooms which connect to the alarm call system and alert staff when they have been stood on.
We offer both permanent and emergency / short term respite care for service users. We accept service users who are local authority funded or who privately fund their own care. All service users receive the same high level of care regardless of their financial status.
To make things easier for service users and their representatives we can make all necessary arrangements for doctors, district nurses or specialist appointments when needed.
Dentist, optician, and chiropodist appointments are made to suit individuals and can visit service users in-house.
