Rosewood Villa is a home in the Throckley area of Newcastle Upon Tyne, which can accommodate 17 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC. Care can be provided for those with dementia. Rosewood Villa also offers the following short stay services; respite care (when a room is available); day care service.

**Our Rosewood Villa Family

Rosewood Villa was opened on 4th July 1988 by Mrs Watson, Proprietor. She has over 60 years experience of working with the elderly; in both hospitals and care homes.

Our Care Manager, Lesley Hadaway, began working at Rosewood Villa in April 2002. She has gained many qualifications and is currently qualified to NVQ level 5 in Care and has achieved NVQ Assessors Award and Jacqueline Watson, who works alongside Lesley has completed the LMC award in Health and Social Care. Lesley has also been part of a training initiative and is a Dementia Champion.

Mrs Watson, Lesley and Jacqueline are supported by a caring team, who are also undergoing constant training, including Safeguarding Adults, Dementia Awareness, Nutrition, End of Life Care, Vision Awareness, Challenging Behaviour, etc.

**Our Home from Home

We have 13 single bedrooms and 2 shared bedrooms, over both ground and first floors. All rooms provide lockable facilities for your personal possessions. Some bedrooms also have private telephone lines installed.
Our communal lounges are on the ground floor.
The main lounge and conservatory, incorporating the activities area, are enjoyed by all of our residents.
Rosewood Villa is a non-smoking Home.

We also pride ourselves on our Dining Room where our residents enjoy freshly prepared, home cooked meals.

**The Great Outdoors

We have extensive gardens at the front of Rosewood Villa which are overlooked from the veranda area. It also overlooks beautiful views of the Tyne Valley. There are various other small, sheltered patio areas around the property for those who enjoy the outdoors.

**Social Activities

We have an activities co-ordinator who organises a full social activities programme. Karen has undertaken training as a Dementia Liason Meaningful Activities Co-ordinator.
From time to time excursions are also organised.
We also enjoy celebrating birthdays and other social events.
A library service can be accessed by the home.

**Visitors

We encourage friends and family to visit. However we do request that visits do not interrupt our mealtimes and have a ‘protected mealtime’ policy.
We have regular visits from the local first school and churches.

We are situated in Throckley's prime residential area close to all village amenities. Throckley is a small village and this property enjoys an ideal position approximately 6 miles from Newcastle. It is easily accessible from Newcastle via the A69 Dual Carriageway.
