Overview

The Rylands Nursing and Residential Home, located in the charming area of Newport, provides high-quality residential and nursing care for up to 42 residents. Proudly rated as 'Good' by the CQC, we offer a range of services, including nursing care, residential care, end-of-life care, and short-stay options such as respite care and reablement support.

The home is managed by Ellie Hitchman, who has been a dedicated part of The Rylands team for over nine years. Supporting her are Clinical Nurse Deputy Manager Emily Millward and Clinical Lead Clementina Constantine, along with a team of experienced nurses and nursing assistants. Together, they ensure our residents receive the highest standard of personal and nursing care.

At The Rylands, we embrace a warm and welcoming atmosphere, situated just outside the main town area yet within walking distance. Each resident benefits from a personalised care plan tailored to their specific needs, reflecting our ‘person-centred’ approach to care.

Our dedicated Social and Well-being Lead works to enrich our residents' lives with a diverse schedule of group activities, music, entertainment, and one-on-one time. By learning about our residents' favorite music, hobbies, and interests, we create bespoke activity programs to keep their days fulfilling and enjoyable.

Dining at The Rylands is a delight, with fresh, home-cooked meals thoughtfully prepared to meet nutritional needs, modified diets, and personal preferences. Residents enjoy a variety of refreshments and snacks throughout the day.

We are proud to welcome visitors and guests with open arms. The home features a spacious communal lounge, a conservatory, a dining room, and beautifully landscaped garden spaces. For convenience, The Rylands offers a large car park and lift accessibility, ensuring a comfortable and inclusive environment for all.

At The Rylands Nursing and Residential Home, our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality care in a supportive, homely setting.
