Thomas Tawell House is situated in the heart of the North side of Norwich city centre, close to shops and community facilities.
The home is well-known locally for its dedicated support for older people and specialises in providing support for people with a visual impairment or sight loss.
Black Swan has recently purchased the care home, which is undergoing an extensive refurbishment programme of the bedrooms and living areas to create bright, inviting and comfortable environments for our residents.
As well as the 37 bedrooms, most with ensuite facilities, the home has inviting living rooms, including the recently redecorated Mitre Room, a large dining room and adapted communal bathrooms. Specialist flooring and colourways are used in the home to support residents with sight impairments to assist them in finding their way around the home.
Outside is a private, welcoming garden area, planted with sweet smelling plants and flowers designed to promote a sensory experience for the residents.
Residents can personalise and decorate their bedrooms to suit their personal tastes and hobbies. Our Activities Co-ordinators at the home provide a wide range of exciting, fun activities for residents to enjoy – based on their preferences.
