Overview
Situated in the heart of the lovely village of Ruddington, and only ten minutes’ drive from the centre of Nottingham, Orchard House offers the very highest quality of residential care in a converted and lovingly maintained elegant Victorian manor house.
Orchard House offers a wide choice of comfortable and tastefully decorated rooms for residents to call their own. We encourage everyone to make their room a special place, by adding treasured possessions, photos, pictures or perhaps a favourite piece of furniture or a much-loved chair.
We have two lounges and a large dining room, as well as two beautiful conservatories, so there is plenty of choice as to where to sit, engage in activities, or perhaps catch up with friends or family. We aim to offer a relaxed and comfortable environment where everyone can feel they truly live in a home-from-home. Complimenting the attractive interior of the home are beautiful gardens that have a variety of seating areas, raised flowerbeds, a summer house, and memorial area. These are maintained all year round so that residents and families can enjoy being outside during good weather.
All the staff employed at Orchard House have been chosen not only for their professional abilities but also for their values and caring nature. We aim to provide the highest quality of care for residents and their families, and this can only be achieved by a compassionate and dedicated team, who treat everyone with dignity, privacy and respect at all times, regardless of their care needs.
We also understand that placing a relative in care can be a traumatic experience for family members, so we strive to involve them in everything we do when planning their relative’s care. Families are an important part of the daily running of the home and we encourage them to visit whenever they wish.
To lead an active and fulfilling life it is important that our residents keep as fit and healthy as possible. We hold an extensive range of events that we develop in conjunction with our resident’s wishes. These are diverse in nature and can include trips out, residents’ parties, music afternoons, exercise classes, quizzes, and other games. Whatever a resident’s interests there will be something for them to enjoy at Orchard House.
We believe good food is an important part of our residents’ daily life. Everyone deserves to enjoy a well-balanced and nutritious diet that can also include many favourite and well-loved dishes. Our cooks take pride in preparing a range of delicious meals for all occasions using good-quality ingredients. We are also able to cater for residents with specific dietary requirements, such as vegetarians, or those with diabetes, gluten intolerance or other food allergies. We offer a good choice of menu at every mealtime, and for special occasions, we are happy to produce an individual menu to celebrate special days such as anniversaries or birthdays.
We want all our residents to feel part of a warm and caring community and that they live in a happy home from home. We try hard to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere at all times. We pride ourselves on getting to know our residents extremely well, learning about their life stories, and all their likes and dislikes, hobbies and interests. We want to make everyone feel special, as we believe care should be as individual as each of our residents are.
We hope that you will enjoy a visit to Orchard House and we are available at any time to help you with making the right choice for you. Please do not hesitate to call us and ask for our help.
