Overview

The Orchard care home is a small residential home in the Hucknall area of Nottingham, which can accommodate 6 people. The home specialises in Autism, learning disabilities, Mental health, Diabetes, Epilepsy and works along side external health care agencies such as living well teams, SALT, Occupational therapy and more. At present time there is one vacancy at the Orchard which means, short stay and respite services can be accepted at present time.

The Orchard care home is a small, settled and quiet environment, that offers lots of in house activities for our service users to take part in, service users have regular service user meetings where they take the opportunity to plan meals throughout the month and what activities they would like to do as a group or individuals. There are planned learning sessions and workshops for service users that want to learn new things.

The Orchard care home promotes and encourages life skills and service users at the Orchard with their support staff, like to be involved in cleanliness throughout the home, upholding the cleanliness of the home, our service users build lots of self worth and take pride in their environment.

The Orchard has two cabins in the garden, one of which is used as a sensory room and the other as an on site bar, which has lots of games, a bar area and a fridge with drinks and snacks in the service users to enjoy with seating outside for the summer months.

Service users at the Orchard attend local day services and are encouraged to integrate into the local community.

Hucknall is in the heart of Nottinghamshire and the Orchard is situated close by the busy city of Nottingham and has great transport links to both Nottingham and Mansfield with the Tram and train station being a 2 minute walk from the Orchard.

Hucknall itself has lots to offer, there is a cinema, supermarket, lots of shops, bars and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk from the home. The Orchard care home has lots of different country parks locally such as Bestwood country park and national trust sites within a 30 minute commute include Newstead Abbey, Hardwick hall, Rufford Abbey, Clumber park and more.
