Overview

West Lodge Care Home is a residential and nursing home in the area of Nottingham, which can accommodate just under 25 residents. Care can be provided for those with dementia.
The registered provider is RAZMA VANESSA ALISHAN, having been qualified as a registered general nurse and practiced as one in the Nottingham hospitals and a state certified midwife practicing for several years prior to undertaking the running of West Lodge.
With more than thirty-five years of nursing experience, Razma has a wealth of knowledge and understands the intricacies in running the home. She strives to expand her knowledge by keeping up to date with new legislation and training opportunities. Razma originates from Trinidad in the West Indies and also maintains an eastern culture providing a unique blend of two backgrounds and thus understands ethnic cultures from across the globe. This is reflected in the diverse culture of citizens at West Lodge.
The Registered Manager is RACHEL KOERNICH, who is also a Registered nurse with more than 30 years experience in care homes in Nottingham. Rachel originates from Birmingham where she trained and worked as a nurse before moving to Nottingham in 1987 to work on the special care baby units.
Razma and Rachel work closely with AFINA JASIM who is our administrator and an essential person in the home as she maintains the smooth running of the business in managing our accounts.
Razma and Rachel are also supported by a team of expert nurses from a diverse background including Nigeria, Mauritias, Dominica, India, Pakistan, Ghana and UK. All of Our nurses are all registered with the UK nursing and midwifery council and each hold a full licence to practice nursing.
Our care assistants are another highly skilled and diverse team of staff who support the residents in their day to day life, All staff go through a rigorous selection process to ensure that they fit in with the person centred ethos at the heart of West Lodge.
The management team along with the staff team have a commitment to develop both professionally and personally in order to provide an excellent standard of care. This means that there will be continued and measurable development of the expertise and knowledge of the staff group in order to provide specialist care to meet the continuing & changing care needs of the residents.
All staff are expected to attend regular training sessions and demonstrate that theory is put to practice in order to improve service delivery. The management team recognises the need for all staff to be trained in all areas of care being delivered at West Lodge and regularly updated on new developments via regular 1-1 sessions, training and staff meetings
