Overview

Introducing Kanner
Kanner is a 24-hour residential home for up to 5 adults supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge. We support people living at the Kanner Project to lead active lives in which their individuality, independence, dignity and respect are maintained. We fully embrace person centred planning, ensuring the person we support is at the centre in the delivery of our high-quality care and support.

The people we support who live at the Kanner Project are encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities of their interest, including trips out, shopping and visits to the nearby National Trust locations.
About Kanner
The home itself has five self-contained flats with a lounge, bedroom and bathroom. One of these flats also has its own kitchen for an independent person to use.
There are two downstairs flats, and three flats upstairs.
All the people we support can personalise their own flats to their liking.
The communal garden is large, accessible to all and popular for BBQs in the summer.
Large communal lounge area.
Large communal kitchen with chef who plans meals around individual likes and health needs.
Bus routes to the Plymouth city centre are 10 minutes walk from the home.
From Plymouth, there are good train transport links to London and the surrounding areas.

Our Services
Are outcome-focussed and highly person-centred.
Provide 24/7 residential care.
Provide activities tailored to the interest of the individuals we support both in and out of the home.
Are holistic, with person-centred care and support developed in collaboration with the people we support, their families and a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals

The Team
The team is led by an experienced Manager who manages a dedicated and committed staff team.

At a time that is right, we are able to offer a pathway to further independent living. This
might include accessing one of our Supported Living or Outreach services. We strongly believe that every person we support should receive the right level of care in an environment that meets their needs wants and wishes.
Please talk to us about how we can work with you to develop a transitions package.
