Laurel Villas Limited is a home in the Ashton on Ribble area of Preston, which can accommodate just over 20 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC. Laurel Villas Limited also offers the following short stay services; respite care and discharge to assess.

Laurel Villas officially opened in 1986 as a Residential Care Home. The present management structure has been in place since July 2001. It is administered under the private sector and registered with the Care Quality Commission

We are registered to accommodate 24 elderly adults.

We are ideally situated in a popular residential suburb west of Preston close to a variety of amenities including Post Office, Chemist, Health Centers and Churches.

Set in well maintained spacious grounds. The accommodation is to a high standard and further work is ongoing.
Here at Laurel Villas we offer the following facilities:
Two furnished lounges
All equipped with a Modern LCD television and DVD player.
Two Lounges have been designed to accommodate those clients who prefer to dine in a quieter environment.

A comfortable dining area
The dining room has been furnished to a very good standard to enable our clients to enjoy their meals in a pleasant, comfortable surroundings.

Laundry facilities
Client’s personal clothing is laundered on site. It is recommended that all personal items are labeled prior to admission.

Bathrooms and toilets on both levels
Two baths have been fitted with specialized hoists to enable maximum safety and comfort.
Shower room
Passenger lift and stair lifts to upper floor
All bedrooms are for single occupancy - all have hand wash basins and some are en-suite.

Meals

Our main ingredient is health and variety. Meals served at Laurel Villas are wholesome tasty and attractive.
Our main meal of the day is three courses and is served at lunch time

An alternative meal is always offered.
The evening meal is usually a lighter option and again there will be at least two choices

The Residents are encouraged to take part in meal planning.

Each day, our Cook will discuss the menu to each client on an individual basis

Our Cook is happy to discuss and prepare individual dietary needs relating to either health or cultural beliefs.

Activities and Leisure Pursuits

At Laurel Villas we believe in allowing our Residents to do as much or as little as they wish. We have listed below some of the activities that can be undertaken if the Resident so wishes.
In- House Activities
Each week our clients are encouraged to take part in a number of in-house activities, the most popular one is Bingo but they also enjoy the reminiscence therapy, dominoes and general knowledge quiz.

Aromatherapy
This is gentle massage of hands, arms and feet with essential oils.

Passive Movements and gentle Exercise
This is gentle exercise movements to music with an instructor.

Reading
We have a supply of reading books that can be used by our Residents and large print books and talking books can be supplied if they are required.

Gardening
We have large extensive gardens and Residents are free to use the gardens as they wish. So if they just wish to sit and enjoy the fresh air or potter amongst the flowers and boarders by planting seeds and bulbs into pots etc there is equipment to allow this to be done.

Outings
Our outings are very popular. Clients particularly enjoy the themed cabaret trips to The Bond Hotel in Blackpoll or St Anne’s.
Mystery tours are also popular in the summer months
We have an annual trip to Blackpool Illuminations
In addition to the above we also have parties for Birthdays, Christmas and any special events.
Entertainers
We regularly have entertainers come in to the home to perform cabarets or general sing a longs, client will enjoy singing along to some of their favourite songs with a glass of sherry…..or two!
