Overview
Parklands Care Home, a residential home set in seven acres of secluded grounds, boasts views of extensive lawns, woodlands, and the Malvern Hills. The tranquil setting is ideal for residents and their family to sit and enjoy the views, or a walk in the grounds with family and friends.
Rated Overall Good in the last CQC inspection (June 2019) Parklands is a family owned Care Home, registered to care for up to 28 residents.
Parklands Mission
We aim to provide a high standard of care based on individual needs, giving comfort and friendship in a homely and cosy atmosphere. The Home specialises in dementia care and offer those affected with dementia reassurance and support and help them live well with dementia.
Around the Home
Parklands Dining Room, with its light and airy ambience, offers the same magnificent views of the grounds. Here all meals are served and residents can choose to sit with their dining companions and tuck in to scrumptious meals. Residents can choose to have meals in their rooms if they prefer some quiet me time. The dining room leads on to the patio and when the weather is good, there is the opportunity to enjoy some alfresco dining or just a cup of tea on the patio.
Care Staff
Our staff are exceptional in their care of our residents. Staff are trained to provide high standards of care, and go about their duties with compassion, ever mindful of according residents, respect, privacy and upholding their dignity always. They are on hand to encourage independence while still assisting with personal care as needed. Staff are dedicated to ensuring our residents live a full and active life while at Parklands. Person centred care is central to the care we deliver at Parklands.
All staff are trained in dementia care and understand the social and emotional needs of residents living with dementia, as well as the emotional support for the family.
Each resident is allocated a keyworker who will look after the resident and answer any queries or anxieties, residents or relatives may have.
Activities
There are organised activities by an activities co-ordinator, though all staff play their part in ensuring residents are engaged in meaningful activities. A weekly Reminiscing singing session is a favourite with residents as they join in the singing with gusto. Other external musicians are invited to entertain residents on occasion as well.
Birthdays are special affairs, as a celebratory birthday tea is customary for residents to join in the celebration.
