Overview
At Strafford House, we offer care and support to six individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs, including experience in supporting autistic people and those with cerebral palsy. Our goal is to help each person achieve as much independence as possible, supporting them in developing life skills such as cooking, laundry, housekeeping, finances, gardening, and workshop skills. The people we support enjoy a variety of leisure activities, and some hold paid jobs, while others attend day services or classes at a Birds of Prey centre.
We hold regular house meetings where everyone is involved in decisions about menus and activities.
The house has six purpose-built bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. Communal spaces include a cosy sitting room, a large, fully-equipped kitchen/dining room, and a games room with a computer, pool table, and football table. The garden features a large lawn, flowerbeds, and views over the surrounding fields.
Our dedicated team provides opportunities for each person to achieve their individual goals and make choices about their lives, helping them build independence and participate in activities based on their personal interests.
