Overview
Thurlaston Meadows Care Home is situated in the wonderful Warwickshire village of Thurlaston, a short distance from Rugby, with excellent access to major road networks. Thurlaston Meadows Care Home is a family run care business that provides residential care and support for up to 45 residents.
The home is set within 7.5 acres of well-maintained and landscaped gardens and beautifully manicured lawns. Many bedroom views offer residents a peaceful outlook of the rural English countryside and from the terrace where tea is served during the warmer months.
The dedicated and experienced caring team is committed to providing tailor made care for each individual, ensuring each person is looked after with respect and dignity.
As well as permanent residency, the home also provides respite and recuperative care. Respite care allows the person’s normal carer a break from their caring duties whilst recuperative care enables a person to recover from an illness or operation away from a clinical environment.
Each one of the residents enjoys a unique, personalised care package that is developed especially for them using a 360 approach of involving the residents, their family and health professionals to ensure all of their needs are covered. To make their stay at Thurlaston Meadows as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible a friendly, relaxed and
homely environment is encouraged throughout.
The team of qualified, experienced and professional healthcare and support staff are led by a CQC Registered Manager who promotes and delivers the best of care to the residents of Thurlaston Meadows Care Home.
The catering team are led by Lyn Davies a fully qualified Head Chef who is passionate about producing good home cooked food that is nutritious, healthy and most importantly tasty. Using the very best of locally sourced produce that is fresh and seasonal. Care is taken to ensure every meal we produce for our residents reflects their own specific dietary needs as laid out in their care plan which is a key part of our care planning.
As well as the regular meal times, our catering specialists organise regular outdoor BBQs and themed dinner parties. Visitors are also encouraged to join their loved one and enjoy the culinary delights that our catering team passionately produce.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy their meal and socialise in the dining room but are free to have their meals in their own room, the Orangery or in the warmer months on the Terrace if they prefer.
The Orangery which leads to a large terrace outside overlooking the beautiful gardens is the perfect place to relax and enjoy socialising. Or you can relax with some quiet time in the library or mews lounge, there’s somewhere for everyone. Each one of our residents enjoys unique, personalised care, built around them and designed to make their stay at Thurlaston Meadows as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible. Visit the home and you’ll find a huge range of facilities on offer, including
hairdressing facilities, visiting chiropody, dental/eye care as well as a host of social activities to keep our residents busy. Of course, the best way to see the superb care and wonderful facilities we offer is to visit for yourself, meet our care team and see why we believe that Thurlaston Meadows Care Home is the perfect place to be cared for in later life. promote independent and group activities as well as a person’s personal hobbies to make them feel at home and keep them active. By taking the time to understand each residents capabilities, hobbies and interests we’re able to build a personalised activity plan.
Our aim is to create a programme of entertainment and activities that encourages as much interaction and enjoyment as possible. As you’d expect, most activities are indoors. However, when the weather permits, we make the most of our lovely outdoor terraced areas and landscaped gardens.
Residents are also encouraged to go out with family and friends as they wish to continue to enjoy an independent and active lifestyle. A list of our monthly activities and entertainment schedule is printed and available in your room, at reception, on noticeboards and on our website.
