About Us
Set by the seafront in Ryde, Isle of Wight, Victoria House offers residential elderly care for long-term stays, convalescence care, respite breaks, or holidays.
Why Choose Victoria House?
Victoria House is a detached property of an indeterminate age (the earliest record being 1810). Our care home is located in a quiet conservation area of Ryde overlooking the Solent. The Esplanade and the beach are close by, while the town centre is within a few minutes walk. We cater for stays of any length, permanent, long term, respite, convalescent or holiday.
We recognise that although age brings infirmities requiring sympathetic help it does not diminish the need for friendship, laughter, stimulation, and personal achievement.
The accommodation we provide is designed to make our residents feel comfortable in their surroundings. We actively encourage residents to decorate their room with their own belongings to promote a sense of familiarity. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and all have en suite or private toilet facilities.
To the right is the incredible sea view from the main lounge; we also have a smaller lounge where residents can relax or meet with visitors.
At the rear of the house, there are large landscaped gardens where residents can sit or enjoy a spot of gardening.
Victoria House Care Home specialises in the care of the elderly. Our experienced staff team are dedicated to the provision of quality personal care in an environment, which maximises the independence, dignity and social well being of our clients.
Activities
Being active and learning new things is something everyone enjoys. We recognise that activities can help a person feel connected to normal life and helps to maximise choice and control. They provide an opportunity for fun and playfulness and encourage independence, social inclusion, communication and expression of feelings.
Our activities program is designed around the hobbies and interests of all our residents - our activity coordinators work with members of the community to bring them into our home to engage with residents, as well as to encourage our residents to become involved in their local communities.
