Overview
Cleadon Court is a specialist brain injury rehabilitation service in the North East of England. Situated in the heart of South Shields, the home provides support for up to 13 adults living with brain injuries.
It offers active, community-based rehabilitation for individuals in the early stages of their recovery journey. With a strong focus on therapy-led rehabilitation, this community setting ensures individuals have the chance to practise redeveloped skills in everyday situations.
All rooms are located on the ground floor, making them ideal for those with additional accessibility needs. The bedrooms are spacious and decorated in calming, neutral tones known to support mood regulation and enhance wellbeing. Surrounded by greenery, each room also features an en-suite bathroom for private personal care.
In addition, the home includes five self-contained apartments for those ready to move towards more independent living. These apartments are generously sized and include a kitchenette and living area, with some offering rise-and-fall worktops for improved accessibility. Each apartment also has a separate bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.
To encourage relationships and reconnection, the home features a number of communal spaces, including a large lounge and a shared dining area overlooking the rear garden.
Cleadon Court also has a dedicated therapy room where the people we support can take part in a variety of on-site therapies, along with an adapted therapy kitchen that allows them to apply their developing skills in a practical setting.
