Overview
Ivy Gate Lodge is a residential and nursing home in the area of Southport, which can accommodate just over 70 residents - all with ensuite bedrooms. Long term care can be provided for those with dementia and general nursing. Ivy Gate Lodge also offers the following short stay services; respite care, intermediate care and discharge to assess.
We offer General Nursing Care for those who are living with medical conditions or disabilities where more complex medical support is required.
*General nursing residents benefit from all the support and facilities offered to our residential residents, but also have access to qualified nursing staff. Our nursing team works with our residents, their family and medical team to develop a person-centred care plan and are available on-site to provide vital medical support, 24 hours a day. We offer respite care for residents requiring General Nursing Care services for a temporary stay of up to 4-week, subject to assessment.
Whether you’re going on holiday, taking care of other commitments or your loved one needs extra help after illness or a hospital stay, we’re here to provide a smooth transition into care along with a safe, comfortable and homely environment. It is important that everyone takes time to recharge and rejuvenate every now and again for their own health and well-being. Respite care allows caregivers to do this whilst having peace of mind that their loved one is safe and being well cared for.
Respite care can provide a number of benefits for both carers and their loved ones as 24-hour support is provided to all those who come to our Lodges. With engaging activities each day, residents are able to benefit from compassionate care, fun-filled days and the opportunity to build relationships with new friends – much like a holiday of their own!
The Lodge caters to a variety of needs, creating a tailored care plan dependent on each individual’s needs and length of stay which can be up to 4 weeks. Residents staying at our Lodge for a short stay have full access to all the exceptional facilities, freshly cooked meals in our dining experience and regular visits with friends and family.
We understand that making the move into a care home is challenging, but respite care allows residents, their families and carers to trial living in a care setting before committing to permanent residency. It is often found that the transition into care is made easier once residents have already experienced life at the Lodge including the care practices, facilities and fellow residents. We are able to facilitate respite to permanent stays as well as multiple or regular respite stays if required.
*Dementia nursing care is typically for those who require more intensive support and monitoring from medically trained professionals due to cognitive impairment.
Our team of registered mental health nurses, who specialise in dementia care, are qualified to assess and monitor our residents’ changing needs, responding to any developments in line with their established care plans and best practices.
We are pleased to be able to offer a safe and comfortable environment for residents who require dementia nursing care services. We work closely with our residents, their loved ones and their medical team to best support their physical and psychological needs.
The detailed picture we build of all our residents, combined with their loved ones’ experiences, helps us tailor our care and approach in line with the individual – always promoting choice, dignity and respect.
*We are happy to be able to provide a safe and engaging community for people living with Parkinson’s Disease.
We recognise the challenges that a person living with Parkinson’s can face each day and how the significance of receiving regular therapy, support and consistent social stimulation helps maintain both physical and mental wellbeing. We also appreciate that Parkinson’s can affect different people in different ways and each individuals needs can change over time. Our team take particular care in listening and learning from each individual and their families about how the condition affects them, from before they arrive in their new home and on a regular basis thereafter.
We understand the importance of person-centred care which is tailored to each individual, their needs and preferences. Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate, co-ordinated care to each resident to ensure their wishes are supported and respected and that they are not defined by their condition. We encourage our residents to be independent when they are able, whilst being on hand to offer additional help in a dignified and respectful manner when required.
