The DurhamGate Care Home is a modern purpose built 66 bed care home arranged over 3 floors, set in large grounds.
The home has underfloor heating and a comfort cooling air conditioning system.
The home is owned and operated Adore Care Homes ( Adore Care Spennymoor Limited ) and is backed by Shareholders and Directors who have developed, owned and operated multiple care home business since 2005. The main director/shareholder, Andrew Long, has previously held several CQC Nominated Individual positions including that of a 40 home care group. He is actively involved in The DurhamGate, visiting several times per week and can frequently be found chatting to residents and families as well as contributing to ideas for activities and staff planning.
The General Manager, Karen Johnson is a highly experienced and accomplished manager, having commissioned and operated previous care homes, achieving a CQC Outstanding rating in her last position.

When you move into The DurhamGate, you will be supported by a key member of the team who will be involved in care planning with you and the team will produce your ‘Person Centred Care Plan’. This is an electronic document using the latest care plan technology and includes all the information we require to provide you with care tailored to your needs.

The DurhamGate Home team will be constantly reviewing your care plan using the “Person Centred Software” and will fully review your Care Plan at least monthly. You can be involved in this as much or as little as you like.

You will be invited to a formal Care Plan review every quarter. This is your Care Plan and so the more input you can give us the better. If you would like we can share this with your family so they too can understand the care, we are providing for you.

The home operates a single all inclusive fee policy, which includes:-

In addition we are able to offer telephone line rental and calls – a telephone point is available in all rooms. Paid for services such as Sky is available in all rooms for set up. Private physiotherapy can be arranged at rates exclusive to the DurhamGate.
