Overview
Paxton Hall Care Home is a private residential care home for the elderly for 31 residents in single rooms, some with ensuite facilities. The home enjoys an excellent reputation in Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties in offering:
- Residential care for the elderly;
- Early onset of dementia care for the elderly;
- Residential care for various physical and or mental health conditions;
- Convalescent care;
- Short stay and holiday breaks; and
- Intermediate care for elderly patients who have been discharged from hospital and require temporary rehabilitation.
Paxton Hall is an impressive Grade II listed building of high architectural value with large impressive grounds and mature trees. The original house dates back to the Elizabethan times when it was rebuilt and renovated in 1738. The stately home was converted into a modern residential care home in the early eighties and a new wing was added in 1989.
The home has been owned and operated by a family owned company since 2000.
OUR VALUES
All of us at Paxton Hall firmly believe in the following core values:
• Paxton Hall should be a "home" to our residents (residents can bring their own furniture if they wish to do so).
• Every resident is an individual and will be treated with dignity and respect.
• The home will provide a high standard of care in a homely, comfortable and secure environment.
• Residents will be encouraged to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible.
• Every effort will be made to meet individual needs and residents are encouraged to play an active part in their own care.
• We will provide support and understanding to the family during difficult times.
• Staff shall have the ethos, experience, training, environment, tools and aids to meet everyone’s needs and maintain high standards of best practice.
LIFE AT PAXTON HALL
We offer a high standard of care, 24 hours a day, in a pleasant and homely environment. Paxton Hall is not a hotel; it is a home for life for our residents and our service revolves around this core belief.
Residents are given the opportunity to participate in the development of their care plan. The aim is to ensure that staff are made aware of the way in which each resident wishes to be cared for, with the plan being continually assessed and reviewed to enable any changes or improvements to be made.
We also have available, upon request, the services of the local GP, district nurses, dentists, opticians, chiropodists and other health professionals who make regular visits to the Home.
Meals are an important part of daily life for residents and special attention is therefore given to their preparation and presentation. Meals are varied and nourishing and are served in either dining rooms or bedrooms at the request of each resident. Special diets can be catered for on request. All meals are cooked fresh on site from using seasonal ingredients.
The Activities Coordinator develops a monthly programme of activities for residents in groups as well as individual activities depending on the interests of each resident. The programme is shared with relatives.
Our senior staff team has been in post for many years. They are supported by a fully trained and experienced team of care assistants and other ancillary staff.
