Overview
Halcon House is a home in the area of Taunton, which can accommodate just under 20 residents - it has an 'Outstanding' rating from the CQC. Care can be provided for young people with physical disabilities. Halcon House also offers the following short stay services; respite care.
Our focus is on fun, flexibility and independence, enabling those staying at the Centre to feel in control of their own daily routines whilst ensuring that their specific care needs are met. The Centre has a strong community feel to it, with our specialist team working alongside residents to offer a safe and secure environment where they can be themselves.
Every effort has been made to ensure that residents can move freely around the Centre, which is all on ground-floor level with fully-accessible rooms, widened doorframes and large corridors. All bedrooms are wheelchair accessible and include fully profiling beds, en-suite wet rooms with tilting shower chairs, and stand aids and bed rails as needed. We want everyone who stays at the Halcon Centre to feel at home, so encourage them to bring items to personalise their space and help them to feel comfortable.
Located in Somerset’s county town of Taunton, the Halcon Centre is situated on an wheelchair-friendly bus route and is just a short distance away from the town centre restaurants, bars and shops. Sports fans can enjoy games and fixtures at the Somerset County Cricket Ground and Taunton Racecourse, whilst trips out into Somerset’s coast and countryside are a short drive away by taxi or in the Centre’s own wheelchair accessible car. The nearby Hamilton Park offers an accessible green space just a few hundred metres away; the ideal opportunity to take in some fresh air.
