Overview
Welcome to The Manor House Thurloxton, a privately owned and family run care home located in the small picturesque village of Thurloxton, just north of Taunton. We are a "one off", as we are a 3 generational family home that cares for up to only 5 residents who want to live in a beautiful, warm and friendly community, where they are known and loved for who they are.
At The Manor House Thurloxton, we understand the importance of personalised care. We have experienced and loving staff who can help with personal care needs morning and evening and then cook homemade meals to share together around the kitchen table. Lunch is the center point of the day after which the staff have time to bake with the residents or offer to play Scrabble or bingo or support walking in our beautiful gardens with far-reaching views. Tea can be enjoying in our spectacular summer house or outside on the patio in the summer. We are also very happy to welcome well behaved pets to move in with their owners.
The Manor House Thurloxton is a beautiful place to live and each of the rooms or suites are individual. We encourage residents to personalise their rooms with their own furniture if they would like to, making it feel even more like home. Each room has it's own landline number, with all calls included. Wifi is freely available and a daily newspaper of your choice is also part of living here if desired. Each of the rooms has it's own en suite bath or shower room, and although residents need to be able to use the toilet independently, help is gladly given with washing and dressing if needed.
Located conveniently just off of the A38 halfway between Taunton and Bridgwater The Manor House Thurloxton isn’t just a care home, but a vibrant family community. There is plenty of parking if you have your own car still, but we are also more than happy to take our residents to all their appointments at no extra cost and for weekly outings too. We are keen to relieve residents of the burden of medication, by both ordering and administering it if that is required.
Whether you are seeking general residential long-term care or respite care short-stay services, our pricing is transparent and competitive, ranging from £1000 to £1400 weekly, depending on the rooms or suites available. Our funding options are versatile and designed to accommodate everyone, accepting self-funding (private), local authority with top-up, and NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC). We aim to make our care accessible to as many individuals as possible within the community.
Choosing the right care home is a significant decision, and at The Manor House Thurloxton, we are dedicated to making that choice a reassuring and positive experience.
Come and see how different we are and the difference we can make to your life or that of your loved one.
