Overview

Thornbury Residential Home is a home in the Hempstead Road area of Uckfield, which can accommodate just under 20 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC. Care can be provided for those with dementia and mental health needs as well as just normal elderly care. Thornbury Residential Home also offers the following short stay services; respite care, intermediate care and rehabilitation.
We can best be described as a large family type home, very informal, catering for each individual resident getting to know their likes and dislikes, providing a good activities program for the stimulation and enjoyment of our residents (these are optional). The home is always open for visitors . Home cooking is the norm. We have a great location situated just behind the High Street so all community links are maintained. We have a stable work force with currently no staff vacancies and many of our staff have been here for years.
The same management has been in situ for over 38 years.
There are 2 dogs that come into the home on a daily basis - Muffin belongs to the Manager, Dee and Biddy belongs to the Deputy Manager Sarah. We also have a resident cat Bambi from one of our special residents Audrey who passed away and we couldn't bear to pass Bambi on to another owner as he had had three previous owners.
If you are looking for a small care home with the emphasis on personal care, great atmosphere, caring staff then we are here. I often describe Thornbury as like being on a cruise ship - 24/7 care but no sea sickness.
