Crecy Care Home is a specialist mental health care home in Weymouth, providing high-quality residential and respite care for older people living with dementia, and younger adults with complex mental health conditions.
We have an environment and facilities you won’t find at other care homes. From our independent living cottage and specialist mental health unit, through to our dementia care unit, we can support a large range of mental health issues.
We really are a ‘home from home’. Many of our residents have been with us for more than 10 years. As their needs have changed, so has the level and type of care they receive from us.
As well as caring for you, we care about your families too. Our door is always open for a chat, and our residents’ and families’ forum gives you a way to support each other. Plus, your family members are welcome in at any time, for a cuppa, or to join us for a meal.
Social activities
We place great emphasis on social activities and maintaining the type of life you have had at home, whether that is quiet and relaxed or an active lifestyle. We love to welcome people into Crecy, including musicians and children from the local school. Our keep-fit sessions are also really popular. Our activities coordinators take on board all suggestions and feedback. We even have a residents committee that meet monthly to discuss new activities and trips out. We are only a short distance from the award winning, Weymouth beach. We make the most of this by popping down to the seaside, and for fish and chips on the harbour is a regular activity we do in the summer months. Discover your artistic expression in our regular classes, exploring various forms like drawing and painting. We love to showcase our art, infact, we like to put on exhibitions and showcase our residents’ talents.
Dining
At Crecy Care Home you will be served freshly prepared home cooked meals by our team of expert chefs. They ensure all our meals are healthy, nutritionally balanced and, most importantly, locally sourced wherever possible. Meals are served in our superb dining room, but you also have the option for food to be served in your room for a more private dining experience.
Nutrition is an important part of the care we provide. That’s why our catering team take time to get to know your likes and dislikes before putting together a vibrant and varied menu for you to choose from.
Bedrooms
There are 31 single bedrooms for people living at Crecy, across three floors of our main house and 5 rooms in The Cottage. All our rooms have ensuites or washbasins in the room. The rooms without ensuites have accessible bathrooms nearby.
Some of our bedrooms have amazing views over the Radipole Lake RSPB reserve, Weymouth and beyond. Others open directly onto the garden with room for a table and chairs.
Gardens
We love our garden. Most of the bedrooms of the ground floor have direct access to our outside space, with room for a table and chairs.

The secure, enclosed garden has different areas, including a south-facing lawned area, borders, a greenhouse and raised beds planted and maintained by the residents.
