Overview

Trafalgar Care Home is a real home for life in the seaside town of Weymouth in Dorset.
We provide high-quality affordable residential, respite, palliative and end-of life care for people living with dementia and cognitive impairment.
We have two comfortable lounges and a dining room on the ground floor, which are perfect for chatting and joining in activities. We’ve also got a smaller, quieter lounge upstairs, which is great for when people come to visit.
Social activities
We place great emphasis on social activities and maintaining the type of life you have had at home, whether that is a quiet and relaxed lifestyle or an active lifestyle.
Many of our activities are music-based. We have a musician in the home regularly. We also love memory boxes and jigsaws, and have plenty of room in the lounge to leave puzzles and games out.
We love watching old films, so we regularly have movie nights, with popcorn and ice creams. We also like to join in sporting events, and get really involved in Wimbledon and the World Cup!
When we borrow a minibus from one of our sister homes we like to make the most of it with trips out. A recent voyage around Portland Harbour on the MV Freedom was a real success. Our residents also love visiting Portland Bill and the tea rooms at Moreton.
Dining
At Trafalgar Care Home you will be served freshly prepared home cooked meals by our team of expert chefs. They ensure all our meals are healthy, nutritionally balanced and, most importantly, locally sources wherever possible. Meals are served in our superb dining room, but you also have the option for food to be served in your room for a more private dining experience.
Nutrition is an important part of the care we provide. That’s why our catering team take time to get to know your likes and dislikes before putting together a vibrant and varied menu for you to choose from.
Bedrooms
There are 26 bedrooms for people living at Trafalgar Care Home, including three able to accomodate couples across the ground floor and the first floor. Our first floor is fully accessible, by stairs or a lift. Many of our bedrooms look out onto one of our stunning gardens.
The bedrooms are a blank canvas for you to personalise with your own photos, pictures and furniture to help you feel at home. It also helps our care team understand what’s important to you, help in building a warm relationship.

Gardens
We have lawned gardens at the front and the back of the home. There’s plenty of space to sit outside – and we put a gazebo up in the summer when it’s sunny.
On a sunny day, residents always enjoy sitting at our outdoor features, seeing the seasonal flowers, and taking a stroll across the grass.
