Overview

We can think of many reasons to choose Country Lodge Nursing Home in High Salvington, Worthing, but our relatives and residents regularly list these five in their feedback: Our care, our food, our size and our activities and parties.

We are located in the South Downs National Park area in West Sussex, protected for it’s outstanding beauty and our garden is the perfect threshold from which to view it – carefully curated year round by a team of expert gardeners. Our food is designed around Residents’ requests and made from scratch with fresh, locally sourced produce. Our small size means we have a relatively small staff team creating a homely, community feel. Our weekly activities and parties are high points for all our Residents who choose to participate.

We take great care at Country Lodge Nursing Home in Worthing to recruit staff who are passionate about care of the elderly. Together our Management and Staff Team have a huge range of qualifications and experience which we bring together to enhance the experience of Country Lodge Nursing Home.

Our Manager, Deborah Spokes, has been in position for 15 years and has consistently achieved a CQC rating of Good coupled with the highest Consumer Rating for a Nursing Home in the Worthing area on www.Carehome.co.uk. Debbie won the ‘Registered Manager’ award at the 2024 West Sussex Care Accolades’.

We aim to have virtually no agency staff and pride ourselves on the dependability of staff which, in a small home such as ours, ensures Residents always recognise their Carers and build great friendships with them.

Our accommodation is unique. Individually decorated rooms fitted with luxury carpets and curtains, many of our rooms look out over the garden and have direct access to the garden via patio doors. All of our rooms are regularly refurbished and all include a profiling bed, specialist mattress, a touch (bed side) lamp, a large button telephone and a smart television.

Every room is individually decorated in an English Country scheme. Almost all have en suite facilities and our luxury rooms are fitted with under-floor heating in their wet rooms and direct access from the bedrooms to the garden through patio doors.

Our garden is something we are particularly proud of. Views from the lounge and dining room are across our beautiful garden to the protected South Downs Park beyond. They are truly spectacular and the fields behind regularly host sheep and thoroughbred horses which creates a stunning scene in all seasons.

At Country Lodge Nursing Home in Worthing, we take pride in producing healthy, appetising food that provides good nutrition and hydration essential to the physical and mental well-being of our Residents.

We work hard to source high quality, locally grown/produced ingredients to cook a seasonal menu which is influenced by the Residents of the Home. Birthday Celebrations, high days and holidays are important fixtures in the Calendar of Country Lodge and we are known for our special Lunches and Garden Parties for Relatives, their families and their friends.

We welcome Residents for long and short stays, whether it be for convalescence, post-operative care, holiday stays or as a trial period. We can provide all the care, companionship and medical support you or your loved one might need, whilst enjoying delicious food, indulging in some pampering and engaging with activities. Hairdressing, manicures, hand massages and podiatry are part of the regular pampering routine for our Residents.
have our very own, in house, Activities Coordinator, who hosts quizzes, games [etc] several times a week according to Residents’ preferences. Dolores won the ‘Unsung Hero’ award at the 2024 West Sussex Care Accolades for her one to one work with residents always going that extra mile.

In addition, we have musicians performing weekly, movie afternoons with interval ice cream as well as shows and seasonal parties for Residents to look forward to.
