Overview

Grasmere Nursing Home is a nursing home in the area of Worthing, which can accommodate just under 20 residents. Grasmere Nursing Home also offers the following short stay services; respite care and discharge to assess.
A commitment to your care
A family run home with a family atmosphere is a winning combination in providing a positive experience to all our residents who require permanent or respite nursing care. Our steadfast commitment to the highest standards of care enables residents to enjoy living at Grasmere and no less important, to maximise independence and exercise choice.

It is because we are a small home that we are able to concentrate on each resident's needs so they feel part of the home — as if it were their own. Feedback from residents, families and friends is very positive and our inspection reports confirm we are achieving our goals.

The ideal location

Grasmere is situated in a tree-lined residential street in the heart of the seaside resort of Worthing, West Sussex. The home is conveniently located a short distance from shops, public transport, local amenities and the seafront, with parking facilities available at the home.

The home is beautifully maintained with many original features of the original Edwardian house and the magnificent landscaped garden offers the ideal setting for relaxation in summer, and even in the winter months our heated patio enables residents to sit outside in comfort.

Staff who care

Our staff are carefully selected and receive training in all aspects of care. We set out to employ people with a wide range of ages and experience. Our staff are available day and night, adapting to your pace and helping you to maximise your independence with dignity. All care staff have a minimum NVQ 2 qualification.

Everything you need
We provide residents with a variety of choices in their lifestyle. The right environment for the activity of your choice is readily available. There is a lounge and dining room with a view of the garden and our in-house activities co-ordinator provides a wide range of stimulating activities, including art therapy, music, house games, and all of which are regularly updated and changed.

Our in-house chef provides a daily selection of wholesome meals always prepared from fresh ingredients. We are able to cater for specialist diets.

Medical provision includes regular visits from a doctor, physiotherapist, optician, dentist and chiropodist. Spiritual needs are met by visiting clergy of different denominations.

Comfort and tranquillity

Grasmere offers a range of accommodation options — all of our 20 rooms are single, with several including en-suite facilities and garden views. The special needs of elderly people are incorporated in the design, colour co-ordination and comfortable furnishings which are complemented by essential security facilities. Each room is equipped with call-bell systems and heating, along with a telephone socket and digital TV. Our modern bathing facilities include specialist facilities for comfort and ease and include assisted baths and a wet room.

Our beautiful garden is especially designed for easy strolling. All areas of the home are accessible by lift.

Activities at Grasmere

Music is a major part of many of the Activities!

Music reaches people in many ways -memories of the past- both good and bad-happy and sad!
From olde tyme, war songs and sing a long to nursery rhymes, Christmas Carols and remembered hymns from school!

Activities are done in the residents lounge, collectively and on a one to one basis, daily visits are made to residents confined in their room`s due to frailty and/or preferences, just to chat, reminisce and pass the time of day, no one is left out and all are seen, not forgetting that the choice to be alone and not participate is respected.
