Overview
Old Farm House Residential Home is located in the cathedral city, Canterbury, Kent. We are registered with the CQC to provide accommodation as well as personal and support care to maximum of 31 people who are over the age of 65 years, who have physical disabilities and or/ dementia or require assistance with personal care.
We can be found in a quiet residential area close to Wincheap, Canterbury with easy access to town and local Cathedral by public transport. We have a partnership with the local college to also provide transport for any activities or outings. The home has historic connection to agriculture in Canterbury and is set in well- maintained gardens and grounds. Our residents are excited to learn about the history, therefore, we are frequent visitors to the town. The community (Hollow Lane, where the care home is located) is closely knit together.
We provide our residents with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort is of prime importance. All staff strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in so doing will be sensitive to the residents' ever-changing needs. Such needs may be medical / therapeutic (for physical and mental welfare), cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional and social.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the development of their individualised Care Plans in which the involvement of family and friends will be sought and is greatly valued subject to the residents consent.
We have programs of activities designed to encourage mental alertness, self-esteem, and social interaction with other residents and external partners and with recognition of the following core values of care which are fundamental to the Philosophy of our Home.
Our philosophy is simple- provide the best quality care in the best environment by the best trained staff, in a wonderful and peaceful setting. We strive to create a warm and harmonious environment where residents feel fulfilled and content and where the families and friends feel welcomed as part of the Old Farm House’s family and enabled to be a continuing and important part of residents’ live
