About Us

The Glenmore Trust provide services across North East Cumbria. We aim to enable people with learning and other disabilities to live as independently as possible in the community. The Trust is a Registered Industrial and Provident Society, established exclusively for charitable purposes, and has a Management Committee who have overall responsibility for the management of the Trust. Being a Registered provider means that all our services are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Our overall aim as an organisation is to ensure that the Glenmore Trust delivers a high quality service that meets the needs and aspirations of all the individuals we support.

At the very core of our organisation is the absolute belief that “We enable people to live a life of their choosing”. This vision statement has guided the Glenmore Trust for many years and we will continue to have it enshrined in everything we do.

Our mission is to continually work to ensure the people we support are valued as citizens within the community. We will present opportunities to people and our employees will enable and encourage individuals we support to take part in experiences and activities that will inspire and enrich their lives.

A significant number of the people who we support live in their own homes and require a comprehensive package of support and care. The Trust works closely with these individuals and their families to ensure they are able to not only live as independently as possible, but to be an active part of their local community.

The Trust provides support to people living on their own, or with their families. The nature and frequency of support depends on individual requirements, and can include personal care.

The Glenmore Trust empathetically and successfully supports individuals who require support with their mental health. This help is provided in the community as part of a formal support arrangement. We work alongside statutory organisations where they can make referrals to us. Additionally, self-referrals can be made by individuals and family members can also contact us directly. Spot purchase arrangements are another option for individuals if they wish.
