Overview
Astell is a beautiful Edwardian building with an enclosed garden originally built as a boarding house for staff at The Cheltenham Ladies’ College and has been used as a residential care home since 1969. The Home is registered with CQC to provide accommodation and care for 36 residents in comfortable and pleasant surroundings.
The building has been tastefully modified and adapted to meet the needs of the residents. There is a lift to all floors with assisted baths and specialist hoists for those who are less able. There is a large lounge, small library and a spacious dining room leading into a large modern conservatory. The delightful private garden has an area of decking, a summerhouse and paths that meander around the well established trees and plants. There are 33 individual resident's rooms and a further three resident rooms that have their own small lounge. All bedrooms are en-suite.
All meals are provided and the catering team and nutritionist are able to produce a range of personalised meals and special diet meals for those who would like them. There are also a number of additional services - including personal laundry, chiropody and hairdressing ensuring residents have everything they need.
Dedicated activity coordinators offers a range of activities to provide added comfort, interest, entertainment, in-house social activities and events of interest in the community. This all supported by volunteers and a relative forum who enable residents in the home to have fulfilling days.
The residents soon become part of the family with a dedicated staff team. In addition to the Registered Manager the Home also has a Deputy Manager, a Clinical Lead who is an RGN, team leaders, senior care staff, care assistants, domestic staff, activity coordinators and a Personal Assistant to the Manager.
Astell House is a proud member of the Kenmore Group, a leading provider of high-quality care and support services across the region.
