About Us
Skills Support Limited is a small, family-run organisation committed to delivering personal, responsive, and community-focused care. Our close-knit structure enables us to build genuine relationships with Clients and their families, ensuring every interaction is marked by respect, warmth, and understanding. We uphold strong values and high standards, always prioritising the needs and aspirations of those we support. Our dedication to quality has been recognised with an Outstanding rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), reflecting our commitment to excellence in care delivery.
We specialise in supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and mental health conditions. Our services are delivered both in Clients’ homes and within the community, promoting independence, dignity, equality, and choice. Support Workers, carefully recruited and trained, provide consistent one-to-one assistance, fostering positive, trusting relationships and continuity of care.
Empowering Clients lies at the heart of our approach. We actively encourage individuals to be involved in all decisions about their care, collaborating closely to create support plans that reflect their unique needs, preferences, and goals. As one Client shared, “I feel listened to and part of every decision about my support. It’s my life, and my choices matter. Since joining Skills Support my mental health has improved”. Support plans are developed in partnership with Clients and, where appropriate, their families or professionals, respecting cultural needs and personal routines. This collaborative process ensures that every Client retains control, autonomy, and dignity throughout their care journey.
A typical support plan may include assistance with daily living tasks, encouragement to participate in local activities, and help with developing practical skills such as budgeting, cooking, or using public transport. For example, one Client was supported to join local group classes, which increased their confidence and helped them form new friendships. Another Client was assisted to manage and attend regular health appointments, leading to improved wellbeing and greater independence.
Our commitment to quality and reliability is demonstrated through robust safeguarding, confidentiality, and recruitment procedures, including enhanced DBS checks and ongoing staff training. We work in partnership with other professionals and agencies to provide coordinated, effective support. Ultimately, Skills Support Limited aims to enable individuals to live fulfilling, independent lives within their communities, always placing their empowerment, wellbeing, and CQC-recognised standards of excellence at the forefront of our service.
At Skills Support Limited, we understand that choosing a care provider is one of the most important decisions you and your family will make. That is why we go beyond simply delivering support, we build lasting relationships rooted in trust, compassion, and respect. When you choose us, you are choosing a dedicated team that listens, values your voice, and works alongside you to achieve your goals. We are proud to offer a service that feels personal, dependable, and empowering, because your life, your choices, and your independence truly matter.
We welcome the opportunity to speak with you, understand your needs, and show you how we can support you or your loved one to live confidently and independently within the community. Let us work together to build a future filled with choice, dignity, and opportunity.
