About Us
Southview, located in Hampshire, is a specialist service providing support for up to five young adults with autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy, and challenging behaviour. The team is specially trained to help each individual achieve their goals, celebrate their accomplishments, and enjoy a fulfilling life. Opportunities to engage in meaningful activities, such as attending college or social events, are actively encouraged.
Support is tailored to each individual, with personalised care plans reflecting their needs, preferences, and interests. The people we support are encouraged to participate in the running of their home, taking on responsibilities suited to them. From maintaining a clean living space to contributing to staff recruitment or overseeing maintenance, involvement is an important part of daily life. Some individuals even take on special roles within the home, such as Party Co-ordinator or Makaton Co-ordinator, fostering a sense of purpose and community. Regular house meetings provide an open forum for sharing thoughts and opinions.
The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities both at home and in the community. Popular pastimes include swimming, theatre, cinema, day centres, hydrotherapy, and sensory sessions. Trips to attractions such as zoos, aquariums, stately homes, and cathedrals are common, as well as holidays for a refreshing change of scenery.
The home offers spacious communal areas, including a large lounge, kitchen, dining room, and garden. There is a quiet reading space overlooking the garden for relaxation and a sensory room equipped to meet individual needs. Bedrooms are en-suite and accessible, ensuring comfort and mobility for all individuals.
