About Us
St Helens Down is a residential care home in Hastings that provides support for up to six individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and dual diagnoses.
The home has six bedrooms, three of which feature en-suite bathrooms, while the remaining three have access to a shared wet room and bathroom. It is all on one level, ensuring full accessibility, which is ideal for those with mobility challenges. The property also boasts a large decked garden area set within surrounding woodland, attracting a variety of wildlife throughout the year, as well as a raised vegetable patch and herb garden.
The people we support are encouraged to develop their independent living skills and maintain a healthy, happy life. Support is personalised, with activities both within the home, such as arts and crafts and baking, and in the wider community. The care provided is centred on the individual, ensuring daily choices are respected.
Support is tailored to meet each person’s specific needs, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes, whether personal, health-related, or goal-oriented. The dedicated team fosters strong relationships with local professionals and advocates for the people they support, resulting in significant improvements, such as reduced medication, fewer challenging behaviours, and a more engaged and happier lifestyle.
