About Us
Abbey Care is a family-run domiciliary care provider based in Mid Sussex, proudly supporting people across Haywards Heath, Cuckfield, Lindfield, Burgess Hill, Hassocks and Wivelsfield Green. Established in 1997, we are a well-established and highly regarded local service, with a long-standing reputation for delivering reliable, compassionate care and working closely with health professionals to ensure safe and responsive support.
What truly sets Abbey Care apart is our approach. We are genuinely person-centred, taking time to understand each individual and what matters most to them. For us, care is not just about completing tasks - it’s about building relationships, offering reassurance, and helping people feel comfortable, valued and supported in their own homes.
We are known for being flexible and responsive. We do not charge assessment fees, we do not have tie-ins, and we do not charge retention fees if a client is in hospital or away. We aim to make accessing care as straightforward and stress-free as possible for both clients and their families.
Our team is at the heart of everything we do. We have a strong, supportive management team who are hands-on and accessible, ensuring our care staff feel valued and well supported. This allows our carers to focus on what they do best - providing kind, patient and compassionate care. We are proud of our high staff retention, which helps us offer consistency and build meaningful relationships between clients and carers.
We understand how important reliability is. Families can feel confident that visits will be delivered as planned - we do not cancel or miss calls. Our service runs 7 days a week from 7am to 10pm, providing support when it is needed most.
Communication is also key to our service. Clients and their families have access to care notes, ensuring transparency and peace of mind at all times.
In addition to domiciliary care, we run a friendly and welcoming day centre in Haywards Heath every Thursday from 10am to 4pm. We can provide local transport, a hot meal, and full support with personal care and medication. The day centre offers a safe and social environment where clients can enjoy companionship and meaningful activities.
At Abbey Care, we take pride in delivering a service that is not only professional and reliable, but also warm, caring and genuinely supportive. We care about the people we support and the families we work with - and this is reflected in everything we do.
