About Us

Elmar was originally founded in 1986 in a small village called Silsden.
Its name derives from its founder "ELIZABETH MARAGRET" who was a local nurses at Airedale hospital, who believed that patients recovered better from illness in their homes.
Up until 2019 ELMAR was run by Elizabeth's son. In May 2019 Elmar was purchased by Tooba Zafar, 1 office supporting 57 service users.
Fast forward to 2026 and Elmar now has 4 locations and covers Manchester, Calderdale, Lancashire, West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire.

All staff employed by our service hold valid DBS clearance. Infection Prevention and Control training is completed and kept up to date across the workforce. Care and support can be provided in Punjabi, and Urdu to promote clear communication and understanding. For additional information regarding the team, please get in touch.
