23/23a The Avenue – St Andrew’s Healthcare

17 The Avenue is a specialist residential service provided by St Andrew’s Healthcare, located in Northampton. The service supports adults with complex mental health needs and sensory impairments, including individuals who are deaf or have significant hearing loss.

This is a small, community-based transitional living service designed to support individuals to move on from secure hospital settings into more independent community living.

We provide a specialist deaf service for male residents, offering tailored support to individuals who use British Sign Language (BSL) and those who are profoundly deaf. Our staff are trained in BSL and deaf awareness, ensuring effective communication and person-centred care.

Residents benefit from a full multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach, including input from mental health professionals, to support recovery, independence, and community integration.

Key features of the service:

Specialist support for deaf and hearing-impaired individuals
Expertise in supporting complex mental health needs
Small, homely environment (up to 5 residents)
Community-based transitional placement
Full MDT involvement
Staff trained in BSL and deaf communication

Referrals:
We accept referrals from secure hospitals, inpatient services, and other community placements, supporting step-down pathways and recovery-focused transitions.
