About Us
Winslow is a care home which is situated in Bestwood Village, Nottinghamshire.
It is a 24 hour nurse led service where residents have access to all kinds of support from a skilled team of support workers and the wider external MDT. It has 6 apartments in which residents are supported to live independently within a community setting. Our aim is for our residents to stay with us for as long as they need to while giving them the support they need to prepare for moving on to live hopefully independently elsewhere.
Winslow supports residents with Autism, Learning difficulties, mental health problems, challenging behaviours as well as daily living skills, confidence building and access to the community.
We encourage the family and friends of our residents to visit often and spend time with their loved ones, taking them out for days, going on holidays and often having short breaks at home.
Each of our residents have their own apartment which has its own lounge, bedroom, kitchen and a small outside area. We encourage our residents to bring their personal belongings with them when they move in to their new apartment to make it as homely as possible. They are encouraged to decorate it as they wish with their own furniture if they want to. They also have access to a communal garden and a large communal room where they can do activities, cook or just chill out watching TV. We often use this space for parties, which our residents love and look forward to.
All our residents have access to a unit vehicle which they can book and use for activities such as their weekly shopping trips or days out to the seaside, Alton Towers or even the theatre.
