Overview
At Willowbeck, our mission is to make every day better for adults living with complex needs. Our Nurse-led team provides person-centred nursing care that focuses on maximising independence and building everyday living skills. We aim to empower people to live fulfilled lives. The home has seven small units which support adults living with complex needs arising from mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and neurological conditions, including brain injuries, dementia, and spinal injuries. The individuals we support often have multiple diagnoses, complexities, and risks that might otherwise require care in a hospital or higher acuity setting. With our care, they can remain within the community, reducing the need for hospital or secure facility admissions.
We all want to spend time doing the things we love best. So that’s what we aim to give the people we support at Willowbeck. Daily life is all about choice. Everything we do is personalised to the individuals we support. Together with loved ones and professionals, we design a care plan, tailored to individual needs and goals. We encourage the people we support to continue to do the things they enjoy. We enable them to learn, volunteer, and find new hobbies too if they wish. Our dedicated Activities Team supports meaningful one-to-one activities, as well as group sessions and events.
We provide a supportive environment at Willowbeck. People get the care they need, and are able to stay closer to their loved ones Willowbeck has 82 bedrooms, each with an en-suite, across seven units. With this small group living, we’re able to provide a homely and supportive environment that’s more responsive to individual needs. The home has communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, therapy room, and large accessible garden. Each unit has a sensory bathroom designed to provide a calming and relaxing experience. We offer a variety of accessible baths and showers for a range of mobility and sensory needs.
Our holistic approach means people get the right care, from the right team, at the right time, first time round. With this approach, we aim to stop the cycle of failed placements. Willowbeck offers holistic care in a community-based home, close to friends and family. The home has a trained team of Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants, and Activities Coordinators, as well as an in-house Physiotherapist and Therapy Assistant. People also have the support of Exemplar Health Care clinical experts, our Behaviour Support Team, and a Consultant Psychiatrist in times of crisis. Our high staffing levels, based on individual need, allow us to build trust and work at the pace of the individual, which leads to improved person-centred and longer term outcomes.
